Su Ordon, Spinning® Master Instructor | Germany

Posted on 6-9-2018 by Mad Dogg Athletics

Why did you start taking Spinning® classes?

It began in 1999 at the FIBO in Germany. I was very impressed by the performance of the MI Team. So I decided to become an instructor.

What inspired you to become a Certified Spinning® Instructor and then a Master Instructor?

From my point of view, it was the incredible passion, the rhythm and the flow that I could transport to people. Apart from all the physical benefits, the technical and scientific background, it is the ability of creating a journey through a body and mind connection that I wanted to share.

What do you love about teaching Spinning® classes?

I love that everybody can be a part of it. I love the diversity, variety and simplicity. Keep it simple!

What are your top three favorite songs to play during your Spinning® classes and why?

I love Melissa Etheridge's song “Like the Way I Do” (Live Version) because it's the way I and everybody do. Another favorite is for an Endurance Class, “Riders on the Storm” by The Doors because it creates a certain picture in my mind. Jocelyn Enriquez's song "If You Could Read My Mind" makes me happy.

What makes Spinning® such a great workout?

Everybody can do it! Be a part of it! Share your goals with your group members.

Share a memory from your experience as a teacher/coach/presenter that embodies the value of being a Certified Spinning Instructor or Spinning® Master Instructor.

It's so wonderful to see how people’s lives change after they start Spinning classes. I can think of one person in particular, who had been very shy, not very self-confident and insecure in several areas of her life. She became a Certified Spinning Instructor and started teaching classes. I met her a year later and she had completely changed into a happy, self-confident person.

Do it without delay!

What’s one of your favorite motivational quotes?

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.” -Albert Einstein

Do you have a hero in the Spinning® community, someone who deserves recognition for their leadership?

My hero is Martin Timmermann. He's a great sportsman, a good friend and I love his open mind.

Is there anything about you that would surprise people?

People are surprised by my spontaneity. Always expect the unexpected!Su Ordon has been Master Instructor for the Spinning program for several years and is also a DAA and ISAS certified Aerobic and Step Trainer. She has a degree of Sport Science and Didactics from the University of Koblenz-Landau. As a multi-talented sportswoman she teaches Spinning classes and several Dance Classes at various health clubs and studios in Germany. Currently, she is working as a teacher in sports and mathematics. With her experience from studies (i.e. acting/singing/dancing) she is supporting the development of several CE's in Germany.
